Four years ago, I began working as a web communications professional for UMass Lowell (UML). Since then, UML’s site traffic, conversion rates and admissions’ numbers have seen a dramatic improvement, due in large part to my efforts on the Web.
As Web Content Coordinator at UML, I oversee the communication efforts for the entire UML website, which encompasses 200 academic, research and administrative websites, more than 125,000 web pages. I ensure that all 125K pages are brand-compliant and in-line with best usability practices, and that all content is clear, accurate, discoverable and upholds the highest editorial and design standards.
In my other role at UML, I serve as a Search Marketing Expert and I devise and implement search marketing campaigns, including keyword strategy, meta tag enhancement, link building and landing page creation. We are currently creating a series of PPC Google AdWords campaigns, where I will serve as the project lead.
Outside of UML, I run a small, search marketing business. As a consultant, I work closely with clients to identify their web marketing needs, including content development and organic search engine optimization (SEO). I also monitor web analytics and track trends to identify additional opportunities for conversion improvements.My efforts have secured clients top 10 search engine results in Google, Yahoo and MSN for dozens of competitive keywords.
